All you hip-hop heads, get ready. De La Soul is about to hook you up.
The legendary hip-hop group is gearing up for the 25th anniversary of their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, by making their entire back catalog available for free download on Friday (Feb. 14).
3 Feet High and Rising released in 1989, and featured production exclusively from Prince Paul and helped launch De La Soul’s storied career despite the widespread inclusion of uncleared samples. Due to those uncleared samples, much of their past music is unavailable on digital platforms such as iTunes. So, the trio want fans to get their music.
The availability of their catalog will only be for a strict 25-hour period, beginning at 11 a.m. EST on Valentine’s Day.
“It’s about allowing our fans who have been looking and trying to get a hold of our music to have access to it,” group member Posdnuos told Rolling Stone. “Its been too long where our fans haven’t had access to everything. This is our way of showing them how much we love them.”
Don’t miss it. Keep it locked at WeAreDeLaSoul.com to get that classic music.
